Saints seek to end Panthers’ torment in the dome (AP)

Jake Delhomme has several reasons to love the Saints. They were the team of his south Louisiana childhood, the first NFL team to put him on a roster, and ever since he left, he's been able to beat them with regularity. The quarterback is 8-2 against New Orleans since joining the Panthers in 2003. When asked about the last time he'd lost a game in the Superdome, Delhomme responded, "I…

Saints Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

The Saints may be perfect so far this season in the standings, but they have been far from perfect in the giveaway column in their last two games.

Eight turnovers—four in each of their last two outings—are a big concern for the Saints (7-0) heading into Sunday’s game with the Carolina Panthers (3-4) in the Superdome.

The turnovers have been divided equally by interceptions and fumbles, which is hardly any consolation to the high-flying Saints. While that’s the bad thing, the good thing is they haven’t cost them any games—yet.

“Yes, we’re 7-0 and we’re happy to be 7-0,” quarterback Drew Brees said after Monday night’s 35-27 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

Despite being 7-0, Saints have concerns (AP)

Drew Brees sounds like a man who's embarrassed, and not because of all the compliments he's getting over the New Orleans Saints' perfect record through seven games. The Saints' past two victories have been riddled with errors, starting with eight turnovers, six of which were committed by the quarterback with four interceptions and a pair of fumbles.

Arizona Cardinals offense finds big plays elusive (AP)

Arizona Cardinals fans are wondering where all of the big plays have gone. The dynamic offense that carried the Cardinals to the Super Bowl has morphed into one that has to plunk a short pass here and there to move the ball downfield. Then again, the bar was set very high. Remember Larry Fitzgerald had TD catches of 42 yards against Atlanta in the first round, 29 yards against Carolina in the…

Goodell asks Congress for help on anti-doping (AP)

Rob Manfred, executive vice president of the Labor and Human Resources Office of the Commissioner of Baseball Major League Baseball, listens to an opening statements on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, prior to testifying before a House Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection subcommittee hearing on "The NFL StarCaps Case: Are Sports' Anti-Doping Programs at a Legal Crossroads?".

Arguing that sports leagues' drug programs could be "gutted" if not protected from individual states' laws, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell asked Congress on Tuesday to intervene with legislation and found at least one powerful ally. Rep. Henry Waxman, the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said during a hearing Tuesday that recent court decisions essentially…
