Steelers-Broncos pits 2 bright young coaches (AP)

The showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos on Monday night features two of the AFC's top teams, a couple of the hardest-hitting defenses in the league and a pair of the NFL's brightest young coaching minds. Hired when he was 34, Mike Tomlin won a Super Bowl in just his second season in Pittsburgh last year after guiding the Steelers to a division title and a playoff…

Steelers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

Pittsburgh’s once rock-solid defensive line will be missing another piece Monday night when it plays in Denver.

The Steelers lost end Aaron Smith for the season with a rotator cuff injury Oct. 11. Now comes news that his replacement, Travis Kirschke, likely will miss at least their next game with a torn left calf muscle.

Nick Eason will start at left end for Kirschke, but that leaves two rookies as their top two backups as they enter the high altitude of Denver. The Steelers like to spell their starters as it is, and have done so even more often when they play in Denver.

“We’ve played there a few times and we know what it’s like,” said veteran backup nose tackle Chris Hoke, who also could be called to play a few snaps at end in Denver.

The more coach Mike Tomlin keeps talking about it, the more agitated his players get. Exactly the response Tomlin wants from his Pittsburgh Steelers. Tomlin keeps referring to the Broncos as having "the world's best defense," a reference to Denver's spot atop the NFL team yardage statistics.

The woman who filed a lawsuit accusing Ben Roethlisberger of raping her has quit her job at the Lake Tahoe hotel-casino where she claims the assault occurred in the NFL quarterback's penthouse room more than a year ago. The woman had been working as a VIP host at Harrah's Lake Tahoe in July 2008 when she alleges the two-time Super Bowl champ for the Pittsburgh Steelers lured her to his…

Steelers’ Clark likely to sit out Denver game (AP)

Ryan Clark may be saying everything he needs to say with his growing silence. The Pittsburgh Steelers safety is usually one of the team's most talkative players. But he is talking little as it becomes increasingly likely he won't play Monday in Denver due to a rare blood condition that nearly caused him to die after playing there two years ago.

No doubt Broncos may see Steelers’ no-huddle (AP)

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians hears Ben Roethlisberger's campaign speech so often, he probably can recite it. It goes something like this: "You know, I think this would be a good week for the no-huddle." Of course, Roethlisberger believes every week is a good week to run the offense he likes best.
